Department of Public Works

The Board of Public Works is pleased to announce notification of a successful application from the Department of Environmental Protection, DEP, for a loan to fund construction of a project to separate the combined sewer system in the Hubbard Street neighborhood.  The DPW has addressed the Administrated Consent Order issued in 1989 to eliminate combined sewer overflows to the Chicopee River and separate combined sewer/storm systems.  Ludlow is eligible for a 4.6 million dollar loan for the project.  This program is very competitive and the DPW engineering staff is commended for their efforts in processing an application for funds.  The DPW is committed to protect the quality of the waters of the Commonwealth
