Overview
The Ludlow Commission on Disability Was Established by the Board of Selectmen to Promote the Inclusion and Integration of Persons with Disabilities in Our Community. We are a Committee of Appointed Volunteer Members Residing in Ludlow. A Majority of the Appointed Members Must Have the Presence of a Disability.
What is the Role of the Commission
- To Insure That Municipal Services, Programs, Meetings, and Employment Opportunities are Available and Accessible to Persons with Disabilities
- To Insure That Businesses, Agencies and Organizations are Accessible to Persons with Disabilities
- To Encourage Mobility Throughout the Town
- To Evaluate the Availability and Accessibility of Educational Programs for Children with Disabilities in the Least Restrictive, Most Integrated Setting Possible
- To Advocate for the Rights of Individuals with Disabilities and Disability Groups
- To Educate the Public About Disability Issues and to Server as a Resource on a Broad Range of Disability Topics
