Commission on Disability

Overview

The Ludlow Commission on Disability Was Established by the Board of Selectmen to Promote the Inclusion and Integration of Persons with Disabilities in Our Community.  We are a Committee of Appointed Volunteer Members Residing in Ludlow. A Majority of the Appointed Members Must Have the Presence of a Disability. 

What is the Role of the Commission

  • To Insure That Municipal Services, Programs, Meetings, and Employment Opportunities are Available and Accessible to Persons with Disabilities
  • To Insure That Businesses, Agencies and Organizations are Accessible to Persons with Disabilities
  • To Encourage Mobility Throughout the Town
  • To Evaluate the Availability and Accessibility of Educational Programs for Children with Disabilities in the Least Restrictive, Most Integrated Setting Possible
  • To Advocate for the Rights of Individuals with Disabilities and Disability Groups
  • To Educate the Public About Disability Issues and to Server as a Resource on a Broad Range of Disability Topics
